We'll see how much of this entry I can write, seeing as Casper the cat is dozing on my lap with his head on my left hand. It is the cutest thing ever, but really impedes my typing. Apologies for typos, blame the cat *grin* Having a cat on top of me is a big plus, mostly because in the apartment the heat won't go on for another week or two, so it's coooooold. But that means it's finally fall, so that's really good. I love fall. So much.
To recap my weekend, 'cause I never quite got around to posting:
--U2 was, in a word, AMAZING. I will now be spoiled to any other concert, ever. Part of the amazement was just seeing how a space like Madison Square Garden (which really isn't the best concert space at all, accoustics-wise) can be transformed by all these people jumping and dancing and singing along, even with the guitar riffs. At one point, Bono got everyone to get out and turn on their cellphone lights to "recreate the Milky Way". It was... magical. And of course all the singing was just OMG. Fantastic. And, oh goodness, the Bono/the Edge? Are hysterical. It's like they spend the whole show flirting with each other on stage. I now understand why there is U2 fanfic :o) Anyone have their latest cds and want to send me some songs? *bats eyes* Both "vertigo" (they sang it twice) and "elevation" have been stuck in my head and I don't have the music.
--Saturday I had class all day, which was great fun as we learned all there is to know about using a video camera and then editing it using iMovie. My group made a stalker flick in the basement (we think there have to be sequels now) as well as a mocumentary about Studio 54 closing (hey, it was the day Disco died, man). The high points? Editing it correctly to have my friends strut down the street to "Stayin' Alive". Doing the hussle in the dining hall. And the minute long take as Bo filmed the girls bathroom (we teased him that he took so long because he wanted to make it last). So much fun. I love class.
--Saw Five Course Love with PlaywrightTwin on Saturday night. Funny and all the little vignettes were cute, but I'm glad we got comp tickets (as the rest paid 65 bucks a pop. ouch). Then we finished the night with Ben and Jerrys and Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp is God, I've redecided.
--Sister had two friends visiting yesterday, which was fun and nice. Also Enormous Desk of DOOM? Is finally out of the apartment and outside, waiting for the trash man. Thank the Lord. To be noted, this desk has been sitting in the living room, on its side, covered in a sheet, for the past month and a half. I think Casper's sad it's gone. He liked to climb on it.
Well, my hand's starting to fall asleep from the added kitty pressure, so I think that's all I got. I've been getting a ridiculously skewed amount of sleep, but having a hell of a lot of fun. Not a bad trade off, really.
How's with all you *looks expectantly at comments* Cheers!
