A work in irony...
Oct. 13th, 2002 09:46 pmThis'll be a marginally short one, seeing as I just got back from school and exhausted. Fall Break! I have a whole... week... damn. Well, better than nothing. Realized I haven't written since like September sometime. My bad. Blasted after a month or two of class, but I think school is going well. My teachers haven't decided to throw me out yet, at least. Oh no, bad negative Katie rears her ugly head. oops... English is great (apparently I'm smart in that class *grin*), math is adorable (or at least my math _teacher_ is adorable) and spanish won't kill me anytime soon. The downside of school is that i've been really stressed out, which in the past day a nd a half have manifested itself in not being very hungry. Better than aches and pains, obviously, but a little disconcerting. Hmmm... oh well. Really, i'm fine, I swear (little reassuring noises). Very glad to be home, and sleeeppp... My doggie is good, as are my rather tempermental kitties. Apparently Lily was sleeping on my bed while I was at school, because last night she came into my room and gave me this "who the fuck are you?" look and then stalked off waving her little pissed-off tail. Pete, after a long moment of confusion, purred for me, let me rub his chin... and fell asleep. It's nice to know I still excite him. Bud, on the other hand, won't let me out of his sight, or even really nose reach (for those of you that have yet to meet my dog, he is a german shepherd and a herder by nature. this mostly means he makes you go where he wants by dint of size and, yes, his large sheperherdy nose).
Saw Elizabeth at Princeton. My little sister's all grown up *sniff* She's a little stressed out, but then she goes to Princeton, for god's sake, how could she not be? Three cheers for going to a college that is academically rigorous in a very laid back way (if that makes any sense). Planning the rest of my academic career with my parents. Yehah. Yes, for those of you that don't know (the small audience i shout to, that is) I am most likely an english major who will get teacher's certification. Whew, there, I said it. Now I just have to DO it. :-)
Homework left to do: 2 calc problems sets, one methods paper, one issues paper, and NO SPANISH!!! That's not so bad for a week. Well, maybe this wasn't so short after all. Oops...
Reading: American Gods, by Neil Gaimen. If you haven't read it, DO!!! of if you have, read it again like I'm doing. I also have The Moon and Sixpence by W. Somerset Maughn, and Don Quixote by Michel Cervantes. Goodness...
Writing: papers? Hamlet won't leave me alone (long story, next time i swear...) Hopefully revisiting Bencharliemattwillsam or Joanna and the end of the world... let me know!
Doing: Sleeping, eating, petting the dog... rough life, i know. :-)
I'm home for a week, call me, we can do something!!!
