Dear
yuletide Writer:
To the awesome person who has been assigned me for the Yuletide fic challenge: You are awesome! Hurray! This will be my third year doing Yuletide; all of my fics (including those for
yuletide) are here, and stories that I've recced on my journal are conveniently tagged here.
Overall, I have no problem with graphic language/sexual situations, but nothing involving consent issues or humiliation/embarrassment kinks, thanks. Depending on the source, I've talked further about whether or not I want slash, gen, or a specific pairing. Thanks!
My requests are pretty self-explanatory, but I will add on below:
1.Stephen King - It: any
I left this as "any" because I love all parts of this novel. During and post-book, whether they remember again (eek!) or don't, pairings or gen, just have a great time playing with the characters and the world of the book!
I don't have lots to add to what I said above. I have no problem with the story being dark and creepy--hard not to, with Stephen King as source material--but not unrelentingly dark.
2.Rex Stout - Nero Wolfe series: Archie Goodwin/Lily Rowan/Nero Wolfe/Saul Panzer
I'd love a "normal" case story with the usual cranky Wolfe and charming Archie (with or without Saul the amazing and the lovely Lily Rowan). Cramer appearing to snark at Wolfe (and chew a cigar) a definite plus! No slash please! Archie/Lily is fine, obviously.
I'd really love a story that fits with canon: Archie doing all the legwork so that Wolfe can astound the assembled clents/suspects with a solution. Milk drinking, orchid tending, vintage New York living... the works.
3. Laurie R King - Mary Russell series: Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes
Set anytime before "The Language of the Bees" (which I haven't finished); I love all of Holmes and Russell's interactions and relationships. Cameos by other characters are more that welcome; Mary/Holmes, explicit or otherwise, rocks my socks. No death or angst fic, please!
A new case for Holmes and Russell? A slice of life before or after marriage? I love their adventures in foreign countries (The Game, O Jerusalem) so more of that would be welcome as well, but I'll enjoy pretty much anything!
4. Lie to Me: Cal Lightman/Eli Loker/Gillian Foster/Ria Torres
Cal/Gillian (or just the same lovely sexual tension that is in the show) is awesome--I love how sometimes on the show the Lightman Group have cases that seem to bring up lots of their past history. Something that highlights the origins of Ria or Eli (why/how they became readers of behavior) or especially Cal would be cool. Hope this inspires you!
I'm totally current with this show, so anything you'd like tied to canon (or not) is fine by me! As I said, I love the relationship between Cal and Gillian, whether you read it as OTP or just best friends, so that as a piece or focus of a story is great. The Lightman Group working the case is good times as well; bonus points for exposure of more canon details that are plausible.
Don't be overwhelmed by the details above;I am very flexible with my requests, so if you have a great story in mind, I'm sure I'll love it! Thank you so much for taking this on and, above all else, have a great time!
Happy Yuletide!
