Ah yes, a leisurely week off. Except today, I need to find/hang out with three people, then have dinner and a movie (show? that seems so exhausting) with three more. AND I really, REALLY want a pedicure.

And I leave tomorrow morning at 10:30 from JFK, which means I have to get up way early and take the subway/LIRR to get there. Because cabs suck. And take a long time.

I like New York, had a good time here, but I'm pretty sure I'm not a New Yorker anymore. Oh well?

Either way, I am off to do things (and probably buy postcards, because that way in case I owe some to anyone, I'll be all set :o) )

Last night was funny in a "oh, I knew you when we were 11!" sort of way. My middle school math teacher was MY AGE when she taught me. Craziness!

Yaaaaay, The Closer comes back in July! Which was not how I planned to start this entry, but oh well. I just got back from spending the afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] rhymester and her fiance and her sisters. We saw Iron Man! It was AWESOME.

In detail, spoilers like woah. )

Though part of me still turns over the concept of relative morality, that's it's okay to defend oneself against "evil", but who decides what contsitutes the enemey; and it reminds me of the exchange in American Gods:

"Members of the opposition. Black hats."

"I think," said Shadow, "that they think they're the white hats."

"Of course they do. There's never been a true war that wasn't fought between two sets of people who were certain they were in the right. The really dangerous people believe that they are doing whatever they are doing solely and only because it is without question the right thing to do. And that it what makes them dangerous." (pp 296)

In short, Robert Downey Jr. is so sexy. And great. Love it to death.

Still a bit peeved about Prince Caspian (he is too OLD, grrrr) but I'm excited about The Dark Knight, it looks fantastic.

Although A Knight's Tale is on now, which just makes me realize (again) how fantastic Heath Ledger was. God.

I fly in the morning, and it'll be nice to be back in California. I miss parts (pieces, people) of New York, but I know that I can't (won't?) live here anymore. And that's okay.
