More than "just" here, but still.
Apr. 1st, 2008 12:30 pmBecause it's April and therefor National Poetry Month, woohoo! We'll see how long I can keep this up :o)
in Just, ee cummings
in Just
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it's
spring
and
the
goat-footed
balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

I'm in the midst of "quiet time" after lunch with my first graders (that I only found out about having at 7:15 this morning, so that was a heck of a wakeup call). Still, they have another class in approximately 8 minutes, so we might just have reaaaaally long quiet time. I mean, hey, they're reading, that has to be educational! So says Lucy Calkins, anyway...
They can do worksheets later. Hurray for meaningful literature ;o)
