wrapt up in books
Jul. 9th, 2007 04:14 pmHave a vision for my
spn_harlequin story, so I really should start writing it. Like yesterday. Seeing as it's "due" on the 1st.
Rereading Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy (at the beginning of The Subtle Knife) and I'm recalling why I stalled out in the second book. It's just kind of a emotional let-down after the ending of the first, and Will takes a while to become a interesting character, at least to me.
Went to Barnes and Noble (after picking up tickets for midnight showing of Harry Potter 5 tomorrow. Excellent!) and bought The Diamond Age and Quicksilver, which, along with Carter Beats the Devil, a book I picked up in New York because of the cover and the fact that it's long, definitely gives me plenty to read for the next bit.
Of course, at the moment I should be rereading Dad's paper and telling him what needs to be fixed. But I need to go find my sandwich first. Not that it's misplaced. Just... not with me.
