Yuletide Letter

flyakateFirst, THANK YOU. I know it can be scary to write someone a story, and I promise that I will love whatever you write and hug it and share with everyone. So don't stress and have a great time! Read on for my likes/dislikes and ramblings about each in particular.
Overall: I don't write a lot of explicit fic, but if you do, I'd love to read it! No humiliation or consent issues though, please. However, some of these are dark and violent canons, so as long as it's canon compliant or "in universe", go for it!
I enjoy witty banter, a little bit of angst/UST, joking, startling plot twists, introspection, and a final resolution of sexual tension/pining. No crack!fic or PWP, however--realistic or "believable" relationships/endings over "aliens made us do it"... because sadly none of these canons involve aliens.
The Brothers Bloom (Bloom, Penelope)
Details: Bloom and his brother got up to a lot of crazy cons when they were kids (as shown early in the film). Want to elaborate? Alternatively, what is Bloom up to post-canon--having wild adventures with Penelope? Planning cons that are either better or way worse than his brother could ever imagine? Settling down and having kids who can count cards, skateboard and climb through airvents? Choices are endless!
-The reason I chose this movie is because it simply oozes quirkiness and oddity, but there’s a depth to it, a meatiness to the characters that draws you in and makes you feel for them. It also doesn’t hurt that Adrien Brody is pretty. You can keep this more funny or darker (what little we know of Bloom and Stephen’s childhood, especially with the Diamond Dog, doesn’t seem too happy), up to you. No brother slash, please.
Brick (Brendan Frye)
-Details: High school noir! Is there another case that requires Brendan’s expertise? How have things changed (or not) with Brendan, Brain, and Laura? How did Brendan and Brain meet? Bonus points for using the noir slang from the film (but not required if it sounds odd to you) and extra bonus points for somehow getting Brendan into a suit similar to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s outfits in Inception.
- As long as you keep it in-character (and in voice of the film, if possible) I have no requirements. Gen, slash, het, whatever floats your boat. And I'm serious about the suit.
It - Stephen King (Bill, Bev, Ben, Richie, Mike)
Details: I love this book to pieces. Anything in keeping with canon pre or post (either a look post-canon at how the boys and Bev remember or don't, or a "lost scene" from the days growing up in Derry) is great; something that keeps with the creepy and a little bit weirdly nostalgic vibe from that universe is good too.
-This is probably the third time I’ve requested this book/characters for Yuletide and I’ve read fics more amazing than anything I’d dream up, so no real requests. Feel free to have everyone above in the fic, or not, I love them all equally, though softest spot for Bill, Bev and Richie. Pairings only really makes sense to me in the context of the boys/Bev (though I’d probably be on board with Richie/Eddie), but if you have a pairing near and dear to your heart, I'm game. If you're up to it and are a fan of King's other works/mythology, feel free to play with connections between IT and the whole Dark Tower/Crimson King/the Turtle/Gan business as discussed in a little detail here. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, no worries.
