Anyone got a favorite recipe for banana bread? I have a bunch of bananas that I'm about to lose and so should make into bread. Yum. Let me know.
Hopefully the avocado that I opened a couple days ago has ripened up a bit (because I really wish I didn't know that unripe avocados taste like soap). I will put it with the baby spinach and tomato that I have, which will make a lovely dinner. Mmmmmmmm. Perhaps I should make a 'food' tag, if I'm going to keep waxing poetic about the things I eat.
Also, in the same vein, I had a dream last night and this morning that I had been on Top Chef. A weird variation of the burger quickfire challenge. There was corn on the cob involved. Maybe beans? I don't know, it was strange. Though I recall that Ted Allen had liked my dish (it had involved avocados and balsamic vinegear, or something). So odd.
Have been working my way through my stack of kids books from home: I've reread Goodnight Mr. Tom, Sam the Cat Detective, The Westing Game and A Lantern in her Hand (which I read a million times the summer I went to camp and almost killed). Perhaps I will head back to the Sayers I haven't read in a while; also, perfect timing because Younger Sister shipped a box of my 'teacher' books from NYC. Not exactly light reading, but helpful in the long run. AND MY DVDS! I can watch DueSouth season 3, for great Fraser and Kowalski. Hurrah! My other series dvds are, sadly, in another box.
Also on my plate is finishing The Diamond Age, which is quite good. So many books, so little time ;o)
Finally, private school that starts next week still won't call me back, so I'm unsure if I'm subbing for them. *frets*
