Beware depressed storm drains
Jul. 8th, 2006 02:05 pm...and gutters with ADD? I swear, that sign driving down to college always made me laugh. And seemed appropriate because there are JACKHAMMERS on my street. Again.
I'm well acquainted with New York-type roadwork, which means that a certain stretch of highway will never not have traffic cones and a bulldozer sitting next to it, and clog up traffic on the way to the airport. Been there, got the t-shirt. But what I don't get is when they've been hacking at this same little bit of poor cobble-stoned street. It's little. I'm sure it's not actually that important (although I suppose there's some pipe or thing underneath that is prompting all this. If I explode one night, don't be suprised *g*) It's just noisy.
In the words of Jayne, it's starting to damage my calm. Oh, that reminds me that I haven't finished my Firefly fic, more boo to me. It's long now, though, and I know what I wanna write, it's just... seat of the pants to the seat of the chair. And sadly, I only feel really motivated to do that at like 2am. So I never get to bed, never get up... and it becomes 2:23 and I've just barely had lunch (PB&J. Mmmm. I'm gratified to know that the same lunch I had when I was seven still really makes me happy). This is not so good.
So, to-do list, because soon I will go to CT. Maybe today. Maybe tomorrow. I am unpredictable. Or, as I told some people a while ago, "I'm free like the fuckin' wind over here, okay?" XD
*Return book and movies to library
*Go to Duane Reed and get more meds
*Pick up laundry from nice Chinese man
*Go see PotC2. Somewhere. Sometime. With... someone.
And then there's longer range things, like fic(s) to finish, a "educational autobiography" to write and mail by the 15th, and an entire room at home to Clean and basically reogranize and pack so it can be moved. Fun times, huh?
Oh, did I mention I'm in need of a good Biology textbook? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
