Combing through the many things I've found lately (all of a procrastinatory nature, of course), I bring you the following three things for this month's rec triad:
Triad for September 2007
A Fic:
I've read lots of great ones lately (and told you about Written by the Victors only yesterday) but here's a fascinating fic that I hope I haven't told you about before. turn your sail (never say we die) by
fahye is a great post-Pirates of the Caribbean: at World's End fic which looks at how Will's life (or not) continues. Also, a very successful second person POV, which is always so hard to pull off. Excellent and cool and does a great job with all the characters.
A Site:
If you grew up when I did, you probably remember all those "old" games you could play on your Macs, and perhaps you remember playing games on DOS (though I was young enough that only my brother was allowed to type it in, we just had to watch 'cause we'd probably screw up the commands). Thought you'd never see Prince of Persia again? Never fear! Abandonia is a great site that has downloads of all those ridiculously pixelated games, as well as links to emulators so you can run DOS, etc. on our fancy current technology. Too hysterical, and wow, wastes so much time. It's great ;o)
A Show:
Every small town needs a sheriff, but in the town of Eureka, the sheriff has a harder job than most... seeing as the population of (almost entirely) mad scientists keep doing weird things like making stuff invisible, or cloning people. Ooops? If you haven't watched Eureka on the SciFi channel, you totally should. It's cheesy, like all sci-fi, but has an excellent sense of its own cheese for the most part. Check out the Sci-Fi website with adorable animations. As a bonus pimp: here are some awesome SGA/Eureka crossover fics recced by
tropes here, here, and here. ALSO, at the amazing website "Stage6" (which saves my tv watching life always) is the first season, which I am just about to watch. *boogies*

Labyrinth school again tomorrow (and all this week). Now, if only I could decide on what to make for lunch...
